The Public Independent Conciliator, Mme Telelen Dorothy Atabong spouse Motaze was on Saturday, July 5th 2025 recognised by the Cameroon English Newspapers Publishers Association (CENPA) for her integrity, impartiality and tireless efforts in fostering dialogue, promotion of good governance and accountability within decentralised structures. The recognition took place during the second edition of the CENPA Award, held at the Buea Mountain Hotel.

Mme the Public Independent Conciliator was among the numerous personalities who attended the colourful event, which recognises men and women who distinguished themselves with their profound contribution to society in their respective field of intervention.

Speaking to the press after the event, Mme Motaze expressed her gratitude to the Cameroon English Newspaper Association (CENPA), stating that the award underscores the tangible impact of her work as the pioneer Public Independent Conciliator on the grassroots population. She emphasized that it demonstrates objectivity in governance and credited the achievement to her dedicated team, highlighting the importance of teamwork within the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator. She went further to urge the population of the South-West Region not to relent in making good use of the Office of the Public Independent which has come to stay, ensuring that users receive quality service delivery from the Regional and Council administrations.

It is worth-noting that Mme Telelen Dorothy Motaze was appointed Public Independent Conciliator (PIC) for the South-West Region of Cameroon by President Paul Biya on June, 10th 2021. Her appointment was followed by a swearing-in ceremony at the South-West Court of Appeal in Buea, on July 6, 2021, where she took an oath to faithfully execute her duties. Ever since assuming office, she has left no stone unturned to sensitize the population of the South-West Region on the existence of her office and on their rights and obligations, as well as urge Regional and Local Authorities to improve services rendered to the population.
